How Do You Tie Braided Fishing Line Knots?
The introduction of braided fishing lines solved the problem of breaking fish off in heavy cover. The combination of small diameter, strength and flexibility made it popular very quickly. It wasn’t long, however, before anglers realized that braided fishing line came with some problems of its own as well. One problem is that regular knots do not work well with braids. Thread the line through the eye of the hook. Place the line back through the hook eye, forming a large loop on the side. Tie a single knot with the loop and the line. Pass the looped end back through the loop formed by the single knot. Place the loop side of the knot over the hook. Wet the line and tug on the tag end to tighten the knot. Trim the tag end close to the knot. Pass the line though the eye of the hook. Form a loop beside the standing line. Pass the line through the loop and around the main line eight times. Wet the line and slide the knot toward the hook eye. Pull the tag end to tighten the knot. Trim the tag
