Your skin will feel softer and smoother when you get out, and the bran will cause the welts to shrink back into your skin while calming the itchy, inflamed areas. Bring the bran and a quart of water to boil in the pot. As the mixture is heating, you may need to stir it from time to time to be sure that the bran on the bottom of the pot does not scorch. Once it has reached a rolling boil, move on. Simmer the bran and water for 30 minutes. Cover the pot to keep in the steam and stir it occasionally. Pour the mixture through the sieve.
