How Do You Treat Poison Ivy With Jewelweed?
Been hiking recently? Take a little bit of the woods – poison ivy rashes – home with you? Here is an easy way to ease your pain without paying for a doctor visit or over the counter medications. If you have easy access to a moist wooded area, you may be able to find the remedy for your rash. You need approximately 2 plants of jewelweed, also known as spotted touch-me-nots. The plants are easily identified by their orange flowers, in the picture in this article. They can be found in very wet areas – next to a creek or in low lying areas. When you find a few of the jewelweed plants, take what you need. You will be utilizing all of the plant except for the roots. When you return to civilization, use your knife to cut up the plants in approximately one-inch sections. Add these to a pot and add approximately 5 cups of water to the pot. Bring the water to a boil. It may take a while, as the added plant material raises the temperature. The water will turn orange. Allow it to boil for 5-10 min
