Before you call the dealer or the repairman, try to find a solution for the problem on your own so you can save yourself some time, aggravation and money. Fortunately, Maytag offers a product support website that provides troubleshooting help for its electric dryers and other appliances. You may also find the service manual and information on problems specific to your dryer model (see link in Resources). Unplug the dryer and slide a putty knife between the top cover and front panel to depress the locking clip. Remove the top and remove the screws on either side of the back flange of the front panel. Remove the front panel. Check that the two wire harnesses in the lower front right corner are connected securely. This will ensure your dryer works properly on Auto-Dry.
