• Attempt to break the zip tie. This may prove difficult because zip ties are extremely strong compared to their size and weight. Many smaller electronics ties are usually fairly easy to break, but larger industrial grade ones, such as those used by police and military forces for detaining suspects, are nearly impossible to break with pure force. • Remove the tapered end of the tie.
