How Do You Upholster A Coffee Table?
If you have an old coffee table and could use a new bench, consider remaking the coffee table into a new upholstered bench. Even if you don’t already have a coffee table to remake, you should have no trouble finding one at a Goodwill or thrift store that will make an attractive bench with just a little upholstery. Begin by measuring your foam to fit your table top. Lay the foam out on a flat surface. Turn the table upside down and place it on top of the foam. Leaving a ½-inch margin, draw around the table on the foam. Cut your foam to size using an electric knife. Secure the foam to the table by applying spray adhesive to one side of the foam and then placing it on the tabletop. Press to make sure it sticks. Cover the foam with the Dacron batting. To do this, measure the batting. Make sure you have a margin wide enough to cover the batting and that will wrap around the side of the table.
