How Do You Use A Soaker Hose With Landscaping Fabric?

0

Soaker hoses and landscape fabric are two items in a landscaper’s arsenal that help provide an attractive garden by controlling weeds and putting water right where it is needed at the root of plants. Soaker hoses are perforated garden hoses that sweat water as they operate. Landscaping fabric is a perforated fabric that is designed to block light from reaching the soil to keep weeds from germinating. When used together, soaker hoses should be buried under landscape fabric. Rake the flower bed to remove weeds, roots, twigs or leaves that could puncture the landscaping fabric. Unroll soaker hose and wind it around plants. Be sure to place the hose anywhere you want to water your plants. Unroll the landscape fabric and cut it to fit the size of your bed with the utility knife. Cut the outer edge to contour around the edge of your planting bed. Cut slits in the fabric to allow plant stems to grow through. Slide the fabric into place over the soaker hose. Secure fabric with landscape staple
