How do you use clorox bleach to preserve flowers
Fresh flowers add beauty and scents to rooms, but they need replaced often because they wilt and die. You can preserve your flowers with Clorox bleach to enjoy them longer. Clorox bleach kills bacteria that break down flowers. Once you slow the decomposition down, the blossoms will remain bright and vibrant. You will need to add the appropriate amount of Clorox bleach to the flowers because too much of the bleach can kill the flowers. Fill the flower vase with 1 qt. of warm room temperature water. Add 1 tsp. of sugar and 3 drops of Clorox bleach. Stir the ingredients in the vase with a spoon. Remove 1 inch of the stems with garden shears. Cut the stems at a 45-degree angle so that the flowers can drink the water easily. Place the flowers in the vase after you cut the stems. Replace the water solution every three to four days, and cut off another inch of the stems. Always room dead flowers and leaves as they appear.
