Making a mock-up of your design before you begin the process of placing the rhinestones or crystals to the hot-fix paper may help you to avoid mistakes. Set your iron to a medium heat, no steam. Iron out any wrinkles on the fabric item you’re going to decorate. Pull the backing from your hot-fix paper and place it on your ironing board—not on the fabric—sticky side up. Place your rhinestones or crystals onto your hot-fix paper in the design pattern you desire, using a tweezers if necessary. Place the rhinestones decorative side down. Turn the hot-fix paper over and place it on your fabric. The sticky side of the paper should now be on the fabric. Run your hot iron over the paper. Make sure to iron all areas and use even pressure.
