You can do a lot more with lemons than just make lemonade. Lemons, the juice and the peel can take the place of a number of toxic cleaners and do a great job. The following suggestions give a number of terrific ideas for putting lemons to work around the house. Scent a room with lemon peel, cinnamon sticks, cloves, apple skins and orange peels. Collect in a saucepan and cover with water, then simmer on the stovetop. Do the same in a cast iron pot and set it on top of a wood-burning stove. Neutralize odor from the litter box.
