How Do You Use Meloxicam?
Meloxicam is an anti-steroidal drug used to treat inflammation caused by osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. It does not cure arthritis, but it’s prescribed to treat pain, swelling and stiffness. Meloxicam works by blocking inflammation factors in the body. Before taking Meloxicam, it’s important to have your medical history for the doctor. Patients who are having heart surgery should not take Meloxicam. Meloxicam also worsens peptic ulcers. Take the proper dose. The typical dose for adult patients is 7.5mg. Unless indicated otherwise by your doctor, take this dose once a day. Drink a full 8-ounce glass of water with every pill. A full glass of water with a meal helps reduce stomach upset. Skip a missed dose if you forget to take your prescription. If you miss a dose, take Meloxicam the next day and continue your prescribed schedule. Do not take a double-dose of Meloxicam.
