When working with modeling clay, you can use a number of tools–including your hands–to create shapes. Follow these steps to learn how to use modeling clay shaping tools. Use 5- or 6-inch wire and wood tools to create fine shapes in your modeling clay. Each of these tools will have a wire head that has a specific shape. To use these tools you will want to gently scoop or scrape the wire head across the area of your modeling clay that you want to shape or remove clay from.
