Connecting rear speakers is as simple as connecting any other speaker on the receiver, and using them for various applications carries the potential for a more immersive and engaging surround experience. Access the rear of the Yamaha receiver, and locate the rear (or surround/surround back) speaker terminals. Unscrew the binding post nut until the hole in the center of the post is revealed. Cut a length of wire sufficient to reach form the rear speaker wire terminals to the rear speakers. Strip 1/2 inch of insulation from both ends of the wires, and twist the bare strands clockwise to prevent strays. Insert the bare wires into the holes exposed on the binding posts on the receiver.
