The Baltimore Catechism was written in the 1800’s to compile and clarify the basic teachings of the Catholic Church in a simple, usable form. For over half of a century, it was the main religion textbook in the majority of Catholic schools in the United States. In the 1950’s, many schools cast it aside for other books.Now, with a return to more Orthodox practices and a more traditional liturgy, many families and parishes are returning to the Catechism of their youth. Look up areas which puzzle you or that you’d like clarification on, such as Lesson 26: The Holy Eucharist. Use the Baltimore Catechism to teach others about the Catholic Faith.
