There is no better place to do just that than the famed Spanish Steps, or Scalinata di Spagna, that rise off the Piazza di Spagna. Get to the Piazza di Spagna on foot if you are close enough or by Metro: Line A to Spagna or by bus, minibus 117 or 119 to Piazza di Spagna. Be prepared for a crowd. In nice weather, the Piazza is mobbed with parades of people passing to and fro and the steps may be crowded with Romans, other tourists, young lovers, tired shoppers, children, people getting some sun and other friendly folks.
