Even when the economy was abundant, it still made sense to wash and reuse freezer bags. Now that money is tight, there are even more reasons. They are so strong and useful it is a travesty to toss them away after just one use. Fill the bag 1/3 to 1/2 full of warm water. Squeeze a little detergent into the bag. Seal the bad and swish the water and detergent solution around. If the bag held raw meat or any other food that could cause contamination, use a tiny bit of Clorox bleach in your water/detergent solution to kill off any possible trace of contaminants.
