Braid extensions are a wonderful, versatile, EASY hair style but sometimes we forget that we need to take good care of them in order to protect our real hair. If not properly cared for, braids can be detrimental to hair health. Keeping the hair and scalp clean is very important to maintaining healthy hair while the braids are in. This is one method for cleansing and conditioning that works very well. Feel free to tweak it to suit your own needs. In a color applicator bottle, spray bottle, or cup, dilute shampoo in warm water (about 1-2 tablespoons of shampoo in 1/2 cup of warm water). In a cup, dilute conditioner in warm water (about 1/4 cup of conditioner in 1/2-3/4 cup water). Diluting conditioner just makes it easier to apply and easier to rinse out of the nooks and crannies of the braids.
