How Do You Watch One Channel, Record Another With A Single Tuner DVR, No Cable Box And VCR?
Any single tuner DVR with TiVo is equipped to provide for watching one channel and recording another with cable and a VCR. However, this feature does not work with a satellite box due to the lack of analog signals. The following procedure will work with a cable and an antenna as accessories, which carry analog signals that can be isolated and used. Purchase an RF Splitter from your local electronics store (it can be bought for under $10). Connect the splitter to the RF coaxial cable that comes out of the wall. Remove any device connected to the RF coaxial cable. Attach one of the RF coaxial cables projecting from the splitter to the CABLE/ANTENNA RF connection on your TiVo box. Connect the second RF coaxial cable from the splitter directly to the ANTENNA IN connector on your TV. Connect composite A/V cables coming from the AUDIO/VIDEO OUTPUT connections on your TiVo box to the AUDIO/VIDEO INPUT on your TV.
