How Do You Wire A Porcelain Light Fixture?

0

Wiring your own porcelain fixture is a simple project. You will be saving money by doing it yourself, building sweat equity, and gaining knowledge in wiring and maintaining your home. Installation is straightforward and easy to do following the proper steps. Be sure to adhere to all safety warnings before attempting any work on the electrical system of your home. Turn off the main electricity to the house. Strip back 1/2 inch of wire on the black and white wire that is coming out of the conduit box for installation of your porcelain light. Screw on the white and black wires to the appropriate screws (the screws should be labeled). Do not screw too tight or the porcelain will crack. Screw the ground wire to the grounding screw on the light. This will be a separate screw that is offset from the other two screws. Turn on your electricity once installed and test.
