How Do You Wire A Windscreen Wiper Motor?
The windscreen wiper motor is attached to the washer fluid tank on vehicles. The motor pumps fluid through the washer hoses and delivers it to the windscreen. Wiring the motor to the engine’s power supply and hoses is essential for proper functioning of your wipers. Wiring a wiper motor requires only a couple of tools and about 30 minutes work. Lubricate the inner ring of the rubber grommet (surrounding the circular opening) with a water displacement lubricant such as WD-40. The grommet is on the bottom of the washer tank where the windscreen motor attaches. Push the washer motor into the grommet until it snaps in place on the tank. Wire the motor by hooking the power plug–a set of wires surrounded by an accordion cable running from the battery–into the power supply intake on the motor.
