Harbor Breeze ceiling fans are a proprietary brand of Lowe’s and are designed to be installed without you having to hire an electrician. If this is your first ceiling fan installation, prepare to spend from two to four hours assembling and wiring your fan. The installation design of the Harbor Breeze fan makes it a one person project. If you are wiring your Harbor Breeze ceiling fan where a light fixture was once installed, verify that the ceiling junction box is rated to hold your ceiling fan. Assemble the Harbor Breeze ceiling fan according to the manufacturer’s directions. Turn off the electrical power to the ceiling fan by turning off the breaker at the main electrical panel. Test to confirm the power has been disconnected. Locate the black wire inside the ceiling fan junction box.
