How Do You Word A Save-The-Date Invitation?
Sending out a “save-the-date” invitation to each wedding guest can be optimal when an engagement is longer than a few months and/or when out-of-town residents are being invited. Giving guests a heads up on your wedding plans can aid them in making travel arrangements and getting time off work. How you word the save-the-date card is up to you, but there are some general guidelines. Announce the couple getting married. “Joe Smith and Sally Henderson are getting married.” If you want a more informal save-the-date card, you may omit the last names as long as the individuals are easily recognizable to all your guests. Invite your guests to celebrate with you. “We hope you can celebrate with us on this joyous occasion.” Any variation that expresses the same sentiments will work.
