Chiropractors work mainly with the spine, which is the central organism of the human nervous system.  Given the physiological reactions to stress--tightening muscles, increased blood pressure, stiffness, nervous irritation--chiropractic care can be very beneficial when treating the symptoms of stress.  Chiropractic treatment releases muscle tension, causing a ripple effect of reduced nerve irritation, improved blood circulation, and general relaxation.  Chiropractic care also encourages good posture, which allows for better breathing capacity.  Deep breathing is known to be an effective counter to stress and nervousness.
