You know the basic color wheel, but for advanced color mixing you need to learn the lessons of how one color progresses towards another. I think it's more important to make your own, so you have a better idea how to use color mixing to create interesting paintings. When I work, I often create a palette of colors, and a color wheel from the colors I want to work with. In order to create the basic colors, like the blue group, you would need the geological/chemical knowledge to find the minerals that produce the pigments for those colors. This is not as daunting as it might seem. Lots of artists like to mix their own paints -it has a long history in the workshops of the old masters who couldn't just go to an art store and buy the colors they needed like we can.  more
