How does a Credit Union operate?
Banks generally function on a system whereby you do not need to be a customer to be a shareholder and vise versa. Credit Unions operate as community based financial organizations in which you, the member, essentially own your bank! With the Credit Union, the titles of member and shareholder are one in the same, meaning that we are not only available to focus on your banking needs, but also to hear your opinions on the day to day workings of the Credit Union. Your level of involvement in the democracy of the Credit Union can be as much or as little as you desire.
