When a vacancy arises on the Court of Appeals, the state Judicial Nominating Commission seeks candidate applications from the district of the state with the opening. Following an extensive interview process, the Commission selects three finalists, who must have been admitted to the practice of law in Indiana for a minimum of 10 years or served as a trial court judge for at least five years.  more
