How does a new fire house factor into the economics for abolishing the MFD?

It doesn’t. In order to make the claim that it will cost Village citizens more property taxes to keep the Mariemont Fire Department, as compared to abolishing the MFD and “joining” the LMFR, the Village has factored into the costs to keep the MFD a 3 mill levy to build a new fire station. The Village, however, does not need a new fire station. To the extent that the Village suggests that it will cost Village property owners these extra 3 mills to keep the MFD, such suggestion is inaccurate, because the outcome of an election to pass a 3 mill levy to build a new fire station for the MFD cannot be predicted at this time.
