Buy yourself a nice big juicy steak from the butcher. Cut it into 3 pieces. Shallow fry the steaks in stages but take them out at the same time. You now have 3 tasty steaks – 1 well done, 1 medium ans 1 rare. Taste them all and compare the taste and texture. The biggest difference would be in the texture. Less well done steak is softer and juicer in the mouth. I always had my steaks well done. Then I went to this quite posh restaurant where I ordered a steak. Wasn’t until some time after the waiter left that I realised that I hadn’t been asked how I wanted it. I started worrying then that it would be half raw…. My husband suggested I just wait and see how it came out. Anyway the steak arrived and red juices were oozing in the plate. Was not happy. My husband insisted I at least tried it before I started making a fuss. So I tried it. It was unbelievably good. Best steak I’d ever had!! To this day I still order a medium steak.
