How does a vesicle relate to a golgi apparatus?
The Golgi apparatus, or Golgi body, collects cell products in one place and the the vesicles move the product where it needs to be, whether in another part of a cell, or outside of the cell. The golgi apparatus functions in modifying, packaging. storing, and distributing proteins produced by the ER. After the proteins are received at its inner face, they are often modified by the addition of a carbohydrate chain or a phosphate group. They are packaged into secretory vesicles that move to the plasma membrane, where their contents are discharged. For example, this is the way hormones are secreted into blood by the glands taht produce them.
