How does adding more RAM affect a video card?
With computer video cards, (especially the ones that are built into the computer’s motherboard) adding more RAM generally boosts video performance. This is because the video card shares the computer’s main RAM (at least in the video cards that are built into the motherboard) I have an emachines computer that has the built in Intel 810 video chipset. On my computer I play some of the older 3D computer games (Call of Duty, Medal of Honor Allied Assault, etc.) boosting my computers RAM from 256MB to 512MB greatly improved my video controller’s 3D acceleration 10 fold. I really noticed a difference in my computer games (which are really graphics intensive) I can play my games at higher resolutions and they run much smoother.
