How does an isolation transformer stop you from being electrocuted?

You can be electrocuted from the output of an isolation transformer just like you can from a transformer that has one of it`s secondary output terminals grounded to chassis or earth ground. But since neither output terminal of the secondary of the isolation transformer is referenced (connected) to chassis ground or earth ground then that means there is zero Voltage potential between either of the secondary`s output terminals and chassis ground or earth ground. The only way you can be electrocuted from the secondary terminals of an isolation transformer that is wire properly and functioning properly is to have your body complete a circuit directly or indirectly from one terminal of it`s secondary to the other terminal of it`s secondary. Of course this can not be done through a chassis that you happen to touch or earth ground that you might be standing on like it could if a regular transformer with one it`s terminals referenced to ground was being used.
