How does bulimia and laxatives abuse work?
Bulimia is an eating disorder. People with bulimia will eat a lot of food in one go, excessive amounts that a normal person would not do (bingeing), then will experience intense feelings of self hatred and worthlessness. They will then get rid of the food they have eaten quickly (purging). Purging can be in many different ways. Forcing yourself to be sick, taking laxatives, fasting, enemas and over exercising are all forms of purging. One of the main things about bulimia is the self worth. Feelings of guilt, depression, and self-condemnation due to the lack of self control they feel they should have. The sufferer will then engage in compensatory behaviors to make up for the excessive eating and may then feel slightly better or not. Bulimia is a mental disorder.
