Since it’s just a big ethernet segment, LAN-style protocols can be used. DHCP provides a very easy way to configure IP addresses, DNS servers and gateways, and it’s what Chello uses to assign you an IP address. If you have a firewall, you’ll need to allow DHCP in from the outside world. it runs over UDP, with the server end on port 67 and the client end on port 68.
