How Does Eating Locally Grown Food Help the Environment?

0

Locally grown food doesn’t have to be shipped or trucked in from great distances, saving the environment by reducing our use of the fuels necessary to transport the goods. I’d say the best thing that buying local does is help local economies. Instead of giving a buck to some corporation a thousand miles away you are helping feed your neighbor.

The transportation involved with food grown at a distance adds to pollution. Locally grown food adds little of that.
