How does Engineered Stone compare to Corian© or other plastic solid surfaces?

Corian© is about 70% mineral and 30% Acrylic polymers. Both products have their place. You can do many things with Corian© that you cannot do with engineered stone. Thermoforming and dye sublimation are two that come to mind. Being harder, engineered stone is less forgiving of dishes or crystal being dropped on them. Corian© is less likely to break your fine crystal. Both are fine products.

Engineered Products are made of pure natural quartz, a stone crystal mined from the earth and manufactured into slabs. Corian© is 100% plastic polymer, it has NO stone in it. Cambria gives you the timeless beauty of natural stone with a harder and more durable surface.
