F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote about how people who sought fame and fortune durring the 1920’s lost sight of what true hapiness was. he was able to write about this tpoic becausehe hislef wanted fame, mowny beauty…etc. He was born into a middle class family… but he wanted to make it big. In June 1918 Fitzgerald was assigned to Camp Sheridan, near Montgomery, Alabama. There he fell in love with eighteen-year-old Zelda Sayre, the youngest daughter of an Alabama Supreme Court judge. The romance intensified Fitzgerald’s hopes for the success of one of his novels, but after revision it was rejected by Scribners . T he went to New York City to seek his fortune in order to marry. Unwilling to wait while Fitzgerald succeeded in the advertisement business and unwilling to live on his small salary, Zelda Sayre broke their engagement.
