How does first baseman Adrian Gonzalez avoid a sophomore jinx?
Gonzalez has always had the talent, he just needed a chance to play. He’s mature for his 24 years and appears to be comfortable in the starting role and hitting cleanup. The key could be who hits behind him. As with all sluggers, good pitches may be hard to come by if whoever hits fifth doesn’t produce. In the field, Gonzalez is Gold Glove quality and that shouldn’t change no matter how the offense develops.
