How does HB control the sexually explicit site descriptions that can come up in Search Engines?

0

Search engines are a useful tool in surfing the web. Unfortunately they post descriptions of all web sites, many of which are full of profane and sexually explicit language. Several search engines allow use of word filtering, while others do not. In an attempt to limit the obscenities with Level 2 Total Protection, HEDGEBUILDERS blocks any search engine that will not allow word filtering. The search engines that we recommend are Excite, Infoseek, Hotbot, and Searchopolis. In order to use Yahoo, Webcrawler, and other search engines the user must install Level 3 Total Protection *Plus. Altavista is currently open, but not filtered by HB. Altavista does have a Family filter that THE USER MUST ACTIVATE and password protect. It is located near the top of the Altavista main page.
