How does he view Robert Aske – one of the rebellion’s leaders?
I think they have an interesting relationship. Aske is the King’s man in the sense that he’s a loyalist, but he doesn’t believe in the Reformation. He’s very similar to Brandon but obviously is not as close to the King as Brandon is. He’s become the leader of this rebellion because he’s a lawyer and the man who can present its case in a clear and logical way. So there’s a connection there between the two men.
