How does low potassium levels cause heart problems?
potassium levels greater than normal levels in the blood causes heart rate irregularities called arrhythmia. Potassium affects the “electricity” of the heart that is responsible for its beating action. If it is beyond normal range, heart beats turn irregular to a dangerous point where in it causes arrhythmia. This in turn, will cause abnormal blood supplies to your other organs (remember: our heart is a pump that distributes blood to your brain, kidneys and heart and lungs among others). If Potassium levels is not corrected soon enough, the effects in our heart could mean our own lives.
