How does multiplayer work?
In multiplayer, all players join a single world to play together. Characters are carried over from singleplayer. The host player’s world is saved to his or her computer, and remains persistent throughout sessions. Any items collected or lost in multiplayer are retained/lost to that character in single-player. This allows you to trade and help other players, or work together to collect resources.
