HOW DOES NEBRASKAS SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY DETERMINE IF REGISTERED OFFENDERS ARE REPORTING CHANGES OF ADDRESSES?
According to the Nebraska Sex Offender Act, the registrants’ addresses will be verified through an address verification process which is done on the anniversary month of their registration. This will be done by non-forwarding or certified mail requests. This will be done annually unless the offender has been deemed a “sexually violent predator” by the court in which case address verifications will be done quarterly. However, all law enforcement agencies are encouraged to check registrant’s addresses periodically.
