How does one identify the manufacturer of glasses lenses?
Essilor DOES make both lenses AND coatings…Varilux lenses are made by Essilor and the only lenses that would have the brand name on the actual lens would be progressive lenses (no-line bifocals) Varilux lenses are about the best progressive lenses IMO. I’ve fit hundreds of patients, to include my own mother, with Essilor Varilux Comfort lenses and they’ve all had tremendous success. Essilor also makes the Crizal and Crizal Alize anti-reflective coatings, which are also the best in business IMO. So, now that you know, make sure you get the premium Essilor lenses that you paid for. The lenses will be marked by a laser, but you’ll have to hold them up to the light to find the markings.
