How does Radiation Affect Seed Growth?
In order to determine how radiation affects the growth of seeds, first you need to determine how much radiation is involved. Everything on earth is exposed to minimal amounts of radiation, which has no direct affect on seeds. However the higher the dosage could cause various affects from slow seed growth to none at all. But in order to have this type of affect, the seed must be exposed to a very high dose of radiation. You can perform your own test. Take seeds of the same time, place each amounts on a wet paper towel and place towel on paper plant. Place the test seeds in the microwave on different intervals such as 10 sec, 20 sec, and so on to a minute. Make sure to keep the paper towel wet. One set will not be microwaved at all. Cover each set with a plastic wrap and place in a lighted area. Uncover a few minutes a day to allow the circulation of fresh air.
