How does the alarm communicate with ADTs central station?
All alarms are monitored via phone signal. But a home phone is no longer required. A digital communication unit can be used instead with your cell phone number being the site number. Some phone vendors that do not meet ADTs strict standards may require the digital communicator as a backup (such as Vonage). Many people with an approved phone line often get the digital device for backup in the event of a phone line cut or phone service interruption.
