Human resources and employment law are so closely interrelated that I don’t believe you can successfully excel at one without having more than a basic knowledge of the other. Many attorneys attack employment law issues, whereas human resources professionals address employment issues. A collaborative approach is needed, which focuses on attacking the immediate problem while ensuring that you address any related issues, including employee relations issues.
