How does the centralization of power in North Korea affect North Koreas citizens and other nations?
North Korea is comprised of a brainwashed society that reveres their “Dear Leader” like a deity. A nation that truly has little of anything. Their economy is almost non-existent. Dissidents, along with their families are shipped off to labor camps. Travel is allowed only with permission of government. Only privileged government officials have real internet access. The stories of those lucky enough to have defected are chilling. The people there starve while the “Dear Leader” enjoys the best of western societies such as American movies, Scotch whiskey, caviar and wine. His son enjoys the spoils of western society by attending schools in Germany where he enjoys the free use of cell phones and ipods, unlike his fellow countrymen. Pyong Yang, the capitol, has several shells of buildings constructed to give the illusion of progress yet they stand empty.
