How does the circulatory and respiratory system work together?
None – For all animals, including people, to survive, two processes absolutely necessary are (1) to constantly supply oxygen to all body tissues and (2) to remove waste product carbon dioxide. This is what the circulatory and respiratory systems work together at the same time to do. Oxygen is carried to all body parts by temporary storage of new oxygen gotten in the capillaries of the circulatory system’s red cells in the alveoli of the lungs respiratory system. As new oxygen is taken in, waste carbon dioxide goes the other way from the red cells into the alveoli and expired (breathe out). If the circulatory system stops for more than a few minutes, or the respiratory system lungs completely collapse and fail to function, all tissues, especially the brain will not get enough oxygen and death will follow as the brain’s breathing center dies and so does the person.
