How does the counseling service work if Im looking for a retirement community?
One of our specially trained counselors will talk with you over the telephone to discuss your own personal situation. Various issues such as cost, medical needs, safety and location are considered along with desired amenities such as transportation, social activities and meal plans. From this information, we develop a list of alternatives that is sent to you via mail, fax or email along with a summary describing each choice. The summary will include contact information should you wish to call the community to request additional information. Many have comprehensive brochures that are very helpful and will offer to give you a tour during lunchtime so that you can sample their food. Enclosed with these summaries will be additional information to aid you in your evaluation including a checklist to use during these tours.
