How does the difference in glycosidic linkeges in starch (alpha) and cellulose (beta) affect hydrolysis.?

Because of different likages : alpha in starch and beta in cellulose,hydrolysis is carried out by two different enzymes amylase and cellulase respectively.One enzyme cannot act on other substrate.
